Hala Tawil is a Lebanese visual artist based in the Netherlands.
Using combined digital techniques of illustration, collage, and rendering, Tawil aims to create mysterious yet familiar narratives of distraction, longing and loneliness. Drawing from her professional training and experience as an architect and designer, her work reflects on the relationship of the body to its everyday material possessions and interior surroundings.
She plays with distorted scales, exaggerated perspectives, and repetitive elements, to create surreal vignettes, depicted in sparse and unremarkable rooms and spaces.
